Cosmetic Treatment
Ageing of the face is complex. Most people are aware of the visual effects from wrinkles: forehead, crow’s feet and neck but a largely unspoken about cause is loss of volume from the temples. Like most changes this happens slowly over time but the overall effect ages the face by making it more skeletal. The natural change from convex to concave is what temple filler seeks to reverse.
Dermal filler is carefully injected into the temporal region fills in the sunken/hollow features. It also brings back support to the upper face in particular the eyebrows which sag downwards when natural fat and tissue diminishes. Hollow temples and sagging eyebrows all contribute to looking aged and tired.
Dermal fillers work by imitating a naturally occurring substance within your body – a sugar molecule that exists naturally in almost all living organisms. Its normal function is to bind water so it acts as a lubricant and shock absorber in movable parts of the body, such as joints. It is also important for the transport of nutrients and in regulating water balance in skin. By boosting your skin with this naturally occurring substance, dermal fillers revitalise and add volume to the area instantly. This diminishes the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and gives a natural softer look. The gel we use is very tissue-friendly and closely resembles that which exists in the body.
Dermal filler costs are dependent on the dose being administered. Prices for filler treatments are below. You will also be given a quote during your consultation with our team.
The treatment involves thoroughly cleaning the area first. A topical anesthetic will be first applied for your comfort. The treating practitioner will mark up the area and make a decision on how much product is required to feel the temple. A number of injections will be performed and a cannula may be used. You will then be explained the aftercare.
Your filler appointment will take about 45 minutes from start to finish. As soon as the series of injections is completed, you can go back to your regular activities.Â
At One Cosmetic, we use only the most advanced range of Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers that are available in the Australian market, which are specifically designed for facial sculpting. These products also contain lidocaine, which means that the treated areas are numbed simultaneously during treatment, improving the overall treatment experience for the patient. Your injector will then gently massage the fillers to soften the product.
We regularly get asked about our procedures, so we have put together a couple of questions we get asked on a regular basis. If there is something else you would like to know, please get in touch!
No, our team is selective in who they treat. Below is a guide of patients who may not be suitable for treatment
Due to Australian regulations, we cannot name medicine online. We only stock premium TGA approved brands of dermal fillers.
Cheek fillers last anywhere from 12-18 months. The body will break down the product over a number of months. Every patient’s body will do this at a different rate, hence the varied longevity.
One of the great advantages of dermal filler treatment is that the effects are long lasting but not permanent. Dermal filler products are biodegradable, which means they will naturally disappear in the body. The longevity of your filler can vary, depending on the brand, thickness and area treated. Duration also depends on many factors, such as the individual’s skin type, skin condition lifestyle and age. To ensure an optimal and long lasting result, a top-up treatment is recommended 6-12 months after your initial treatment. Our experienced doctors and registered nurse injectors will guide you on the appropriate time for your follow-up appointment.
