At One Cosmetic, we’ve introduced Emface, an innovative treatment that lifts, tones, and rejuvenates the face, without needles or downtime.

As part of our ongoing commitment to addressing all aspects of the ageing process, we’ve now added a solution that specifically targets facial muscles, a key factor often overlooked in skin rejuvenation. While many treatments focus solely on the skin’s surface, Emface works from within, strengthening and re-educating the underlying muscles responsible for facial contour and lift.

Using a unique combination of synchronised radio frequency (RF) and HIFES (High-Intensity Facial Electrical Stimulation) technology, Emface simultaneously:

  • Heats the dermis to stimulate collagen and elastin production for firmer, smoother skin.

What an Emface treatment invovles:

Your Emface experience at One Cosmetic is completely non-invasive, comfortable, and quick, typically taking around 20 minutes.

  • Consultation & Preparation
    Your clinician will begin with a personalised assessment to determine the areas that will benefit most, usually the forehead, cheeks, and jawline. The skin is cleansed, and small applicators are placed over the selected zones. Once the treatment begins, Emface simultaneously delivers two types of energy: Radiofrequency (RF) gently warms the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin production, tightening and firming the skin’s surface. HIFES (High-Intensity Facial Electrical Stimulation) activates key facial muscles to lift and re-educate them, restoring tone and definition.
  • The Sensation
    You’ll feel rhythmic muscle contractions and a comfortable heat, many describe it as a relaxing facial workout. There’s no pain, no needles, and no downtime.
  • After the Treatment
    You can return to normal activities immediately. There may be a mild warmth or temporary redness that subsides quickly.

Emface delivers synchronised RF and HIFES energy through applicators placed on the forehead and cheeks.

  • The RF energy gently heats the skin, boosting collagen and elastin to firm and smooth the complexion.

We have applicators to suit the forehead, eyes, cheek and submental areas.

A course of four treatments, spaced 5-10  days apart, is recommended for optimal results. Maintenance sessions every 3–6 months help sustain muscle tone and collagen stimulation over time.

Many patients notice an immediate lift or tightening sensation after their first session.
However, the most visible results appear 6–12 weeks after completing the full series, as new collagen forms and muscle strength improves.

No, Emface is completely non-invasive. There’s no bruising, swelling, or marks, and you can resume your normal activities immediately after your appointment.

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding.

  • Have active skin infections, open wounds, or severe acne on the face.

  • Have recently undergone facial surgery or injectable treatments and haven’t yet fully healed.

  • Suffer from neurological or muscular conditions affecting facial movement.

Dr. Louis Wessels

Dr Wessels is a cosmetic, plastic and reconstructive surgeon and is a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of Macquarie University.

His practice covers the whole range of procedures in cosmetic, plastic and reconstructive surgery with special emphasis on cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the breast (augmentation, reduction and breast lift) as well as facial cosmetic and reconstructive surgery.

Dr Wessels received his MBChB in South Africa, completing his internship and general surgery residency, training in one of the most challenging clinical environments, before completing his Fellowship and his Master of Medicine in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Dr Wessels successfully completed his second Fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery when he was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2015. He has published world leading research on breast implant infection and outcomes following breast augmentation surgery.
