At One Cosmetic, we have a number of different peels to suit a number of different skin concerns. From treating acne to brightening dull, lacklustre skin, peels can totally transform the appearance, tone and texture of your skin, making them one of the most popular treatments of the modern age.Â

What to expect
When in clinic for your peel, you’ll be taken through to one of our beautiful treatment rooms. our skin team will explain the treatment, process and downtime. Once ready, we will give your skin a deep cleanse then apply the peel. Some peels need to sit on the skin for 5-10 minutes. The peel will then be neutralised and SPF will be applied before you leave. It is important to regularly apply SPF in the days post treatment. Fresh beautiful new skin will be ready to surface and you want to treat it well during the peeling process.

After a peel, you can expect to notice some skin peeling on the treated areas. However, the result might vary from patient to patient, depending on the severity of the condition. Â
Recovery depends upon the peel selected, however some peels may cause little to no skin peeling, while others are stronger and patients may have a little more downtime. This will be discussed during the consultation with your skin therapist.

Dr Wessels is a cosmetic, plastic and reconstructive surgeon and is a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of Macquarie University.
His practice covers the whole range of procedures in cosmetic, plastic and reconstructive surgery with special emphasis on cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the breast (augmentation, reduction and breast lift) as well as facial cosmetic and reconstructive surgery.
Dr Wessels received his MBChB in South Africa, completing his internship and general surgery residency, training in one of the most challenging clinical environments, before completing his Fellowship and his Master of Medicine in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr Wessels successfully completed his second Fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery when he was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2015. He has published world leading research on breast implant infection and outcomes following breast augmentation surgery.
