Morpheus8

Information Regarding Morpheus8 (RF Microneedling)

Morpheus8 is a medical device that performs a procedure known as radiofrequency (RF) microneedling. It is a medical procedure that should only be performed by a qualified health practitioner.

The Morpheus8 device combines two actions: it uses fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin while simultaneously delivering radiofrequency (RF) energy deep into the dermal layers. The intended purpose of this process is to stimulate the body’s natural production of collagen and elastin, which can affect skin structure and texture.

The Morpheus8 procedure is not suitable for everyone, and a mandatory consultation with a qualified practitioner is required to determine suitability.

Who may be a candidate for a Morpheus8 procedure?

A practitioner may recommend a Morpheus8 procedure to address a range of skin characteristics. A one-on-one consultation is required to assess an individual’s skin and determine if this procedure is an appropriate option. It is used to address:

  • The appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Changes in skin texture and firmness
  • The appearance of some types of scars, including certain acne scars
  • The appearance of stretch marks
Important Information and Potential Risks of Morpheus8

The Morpheus8 procedure is a medical intervention that carries potential risks and involves a period of recovery.

  • Common and Expected Side Effects: After a Morpheus8 treatment, you should expect temporary skin reactions. These include redness, swelling, pinpoint bleeding, scabbing, and a sensation similar to a sunburn in the treated area.
  • Potential Risks and Complications: Other risks include, but are not limited to, pain during or after the procedure, infection, changes in skin pigmentation (hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation), and the potential for grid marks or scarring.
  • The results of a Morpheus8 procedure are not guaranteed and can vary significantly between individuals based on their skin type, age, and the specific area being treated. A course of multiple treatment sessions is often required.

A thorough consultation with a qualified practitioner is essential to assess your skin, determine if the Morpheus8 procedure is appropriate for you, and to discuss the full range of potential risks, benefits, and the expected recovery process.

What can Morpheus8 treat?

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Scars and acne scars
  • Stretch marks
  • Fat Reduction
  • Improve skin quality and tightens skin
  • Cellulite
What is involved?

Pre-Treatment / Consultation

A consultation is held to assess skin condition, discuss medical history, and set expectations. Photographs and skin mapping may be done. You’ll get tailored advice (stop certain actives, avoid sun exposure, etc.).

Preparation

Topical anaesthetic (numbing cream) is applied to the target area (commonly 30–60 minutes) to minimise discomfort. Each pass delivers microneedlling + RF energy at predetermined depths and intensities. Treatment times vary by area but typically last between 30 to 90 minutes, including numbing. The depth and intensity settings are customised for different zones (thin skin vs thicker tissue).

Aftercare

Immediately post-treatment, the skin may appear red, slightly swollen, and feel warm or tight (similar to a mild sunburn). Tiny dot-like microlesions (from the needles) can appear but usually heal in 1–3 days. You’ll receive detailed aftercare instructions: gentle cleansing, moisturisers, sun protection, avoid heat, avoid active ingredients in skincare for a few days. Makeup may be permitted after 48 hours in many cases.

Frequently Asked Questions

We regularly get asked about our procedures, so we have put together a couple of questions we get asked on a regular basis. If there is something else you would like to know, please get in touch!

Yes, immediately post treatment your face will be red/swollen for 24-48 hours. It is also possible for some patients to have bruising. The microneedling part may leave very tiny points on the skin that will crust and flake off. The downtime for Morpheus8 is typically between 3 and 7 days. All patients must avoid sun exposure for 3 months post treatment.

All patients must have a consultation prior to treatment to discuss preparation requirements.

Yes! We regularly combine Morpheus8 with C02 or PDO threads to keep the collagen process going. We want to do everything possible to enhance our results.

Most patients will require at least 3 treatments 4-6 weeks apart for optimal results. Once patients have completed the initial treatments they may do maintenance sessions every 6-12 months.

Collagen takes a number of weeks to renew, therefore results are most noticeable at weeks 3-6 post treatment.
