Cosmetic Treatment
Up until recently, surgical excision (with stitching), electric cautery and cryotherapy (liquid nitrogen freezing) were the only techniques available for the removal of localised skin lesions such as moles, warts and skin tags.
These traditional techniques used in most general practice clinics often leave scars worse than the lesions they remove. Now, these methods are becoming obsolete.
At One Cosmetic we use a plasma pen, which generates precision plasma energy to treat a whole spectrum of benign skin lesions in as little as a few seconds. Moreover, this process does not require any cutting or stitching resulting in a scarless mole or lesion removal.
Treatable skin lesions include:
All patients must have a skin check with a certified skin specialist within 4 week prior to treatment to ensure the mole is not of a cancerous nature.
We regularly get asked about our procedures, so we have put together a couple of questions we get asked on a regular basis. If there is something else you would like to know, please get in touch!
Skin tags are soft, tiny flaps of tissue that dangle from the skin via a narrow stalk. They frequently develop in areas where skin folds, such as the neck, groyne, armpits and eyelids. They are very common and can occur in men and women of all ages.
We don’t recommend removing a skin tag by yourself since they can bleed heavily or get infected. For safe and reliable skin tag removal, it’s best to consult with a healthcare provider or dermatologist.
At One Cosmetic, we utilise cutting-edge skin tag remover tools and techniques. Our approach does not involve cutting or stitching, leaving your skin smooth and minimising potential discomfort.
One of the safest methods for removing skin tags involves the use of precision plasma energy. This technique is minimally invasive, requires less downtime and eliminates the risk of bleeding compared to surgical procedures.
We use an innovative plasma pen to quickly remove skin tags. Plasma is a unique form of gas that penetrates the skin from the outer layer (epidermis) down to the deeper layer (dermis). It triggers a process known as sublimation, where solids are transformed directly into gas. Results are instant with moles, skin tags and warts being removed in minutes.
The typical healing time ranges from seven to ten days, depending on your skin type and the size of the area treated. Some minor swelling and discomfort may occur immediately after the procedure, but these symptoms are typically mild and subside within a few days. Be sure to follow our after-care instructions to ensure successful outcomes.
All raised and colourless lesions are usually removed in one session. Most raised and pigmented moles may also be removed in one session.
However, some black raised moles and most flat moles (freckles) require more than one treatment session to remove.
In the majority of cases, any lesion removed from the skin does not return or reappear. However, in very few cases, the body may regrow some of the tissue previously removed. 1 or 2 touch-up treatments are sufficient in correcting this.
In most cases no, however we do not advertise this as a scarless mole removal as there is always a risk of a scar forming. Most patients have a short healing stage of a red mark that eventually heals to the same appearance as the surrounding skin with time.Â
Mole removal healing depends on the area of the body involved. The further from the face, the longer the duration in healing time. The treated area will be red until a scabs forms. The scab will fall off over the following 1-2 weeks. We will give you an ointment to apply to the area for 1-2 weeks. Once the scab has come off the the area can look red or discoloured for 3-6 months.
