Jawline

All about jawline filler

Jawline enhancement brings strength and character to the jaw, where this may appear naturally weak.

During a jaw enhancement treatment, dermal fillers fill out the area, effectively sculpting and reshaping the jaw. In some people, the concern is that the jawline appears weak or that it may be unbalanced. We can use dermal filler injections to enhance and even out the facial structure for improved facial alignment. In the instance where jowls are of concern, dermal fillers are appropriate to help restore collagen (a protein in the skin that is responsible for youthful volume) and elastin (which maintains the skin’s ability to bounce back), resulting in the jawline area appearing both tighter and lifted.

Whenever you have any cosmetic treatment, you want to choose an experienced and regulated clinic by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) to ensure you are getting a safe, tried and tested procedure.

What are dermal fillers?

Jawline filler works by imitating a naturally occurring substance within your body — a sugar molecule that exists naturally in almost all living organisms. Its normal function is to bind water, so it acts as a lubricant and shock absorber in movable parts of the body, such as joints. It is also essential for the transport of nutrients and in regulating water balance in the skin. By boosting your skin with this naturally occurring substance, jawline fillers instantly revitalise and add volume to the area, diminishing the appearance of lines and wrinkles and giving a natural, softer look. Our gel is very tissue-friendly and closely resembles that in the body.

Benefits of jawline Filler:
  • Define the jawline and sculpt the face
  • Reduce the visibility of the submental fat
  • Create structural support that is lost during the ageing process
What is involved?

Before starting the jawline filler treatment, our team will thoroughly clean the area and apply a topical anaesthetic for your comfort. The treating doctor or nurse will then do a series of injections into the area using our bespoke technique, which means we inject the fillers to enhance your natural features.

Your filler appointment will take about 45 minutes from start to finish. You can return to your regular activities after the injections are completed. While this cosmetic treatment involves little to no downtime, you still need to take measures following the procedure. Our highly experienced team will discuss the aftercare required to ensure a smooth recovery.

At One Cosmetic, we use only the most advanced range of Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers available in the Australian market. These products also contain lidocaine, which means that the treated areas are numbed simultaneously during treatment, improving the overall treatment experience for the patient. Your injector will then gently massage the fillers to soften the product.

  • This occurs when filler is injected into or around an artery, causing blood flow to be reduced or stop. Skin may look pale (blanched) and start to turn blue over a period of 24 hours. This is usually painful and, if untreated, the skin may start to ‘die’ and turn black.
  • Filler migration
  • Skin discolouration
  • Bacterial infection
  • Viral infection
  • Ulceration of the skin where you were injected
  • Lumps (nodules) forming under the skin
  • Allergic reaction
  • Permanent disfigurement and scarring
  • Haematoma (a collection of blood under the skin or in the deeper tissues)
  • Weakness of the muscles of the face, head and neck, which can have undesirable effects on swallowing, vocal cord function and eye movements (double vision)
  • inflammatory reactions – especially associated with unregistered dermal filler products which may require surgery to remove.
Frequently Asked Questions

We regularly get asked about our procedures, so we have put together a couple of questions we get asked on a regular basis. If there is something else you would like to know, please get in touch!

No, our team is selective in who they treat. Below is a guide of patients who may not be suitable for treatment

  • Anyone under the age of 18
  • Active skin disease, inflammation or skin related problems.
  • Pregnant, breast-feeding or women trying to conceive a child
  • Individuals with medical conditions that lower the body’s immune response or individuals undergoing therapy that is immunosuppressive may be more prone to infection by a skin injection procedure
  • Patients on Accutane

Due to Australian regulations, we cannot name medicine online. We only stock premium TGA approved brands of dermal fillers.

Cheek fillers last anywhere from 12-18 months. The body will break down the product over a number of months. Every patient’s body will do this at a different rate, hence the varied longevity.

At One Cosmetic we like to start small with all fillers and build. Aesthetic treatments are not a race and can be performed in multiple sessions. Your practitioner will guide you through the amount needed to achieve your goals.

When our Cosmetic Injectors show you example photos of jawline filler before and after, you will see the increased definition between the face and neck for a strengthened and defined jawline. By adding volume to specific areas, jawline fillers create a more defined and angular jawline, contributing to a more balanced facial structure.

Jawline fillers for men and women are tailored to each individual’s facial structure and aesthetic goals. While you must be above 18 years of age to receive jawline filler, our clinicians will take the time to get to know you and provide honest advice on the best course of action.
